Kettering Medical Center Network is actually now called the Kettering Health Network.

Greene Memorial is actually now part of KHN.

Kettering Health Network is made up of Kettering Medical Center, Southview Hospital, Sycamore Hospital, Greene Memorial, and Grandview Hospital.

I've been here almost 8 years. I consider the network a great place to work and would definitely recommend my friends and family to work here. In fact I have several family members that work here or have worked here in the past.

I can say now that out of all job fields that healthcare is probably the safest for job security. The Kettering Health Network also has the best benefits I have ever seen or heard of.
If you have any questions please feel free to post and I'll reply.

I do not work in the health care industry but my spouse does. From listening to my spouse talk there are two big players in the hospital industry in Dayton, Premier Health Partners and Kettering Medical Network. Premier makes up of Miami Valley Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, Middletown Hospital. Kettering Medical Network is made up of Kettering Medical Hospital, Grandview and Southview.

You will have more ability to move around in the bigger networks but if you want more of a community hospital feel you may want to work on the out skirts of dayton at some of the smaller community hospitals. I know there are a lot of them but do not know their names. My spouse worked for Greene Memorial in Xenia and liked it there.

Good luck and welcome to Dayton!

loRich,
Thanks for that great posting. I'm actually looking for a job in the health industry. I was a medical receptionist before moving to Dayton. I'm really interested in working at one of the area hospitals. Any one have any suggestions?

This depends on what type of job you are looking for?

Also just because a job/employer is good right now it does not mean that it will be good in 9 months from now. One thing I have learned over time is that all jobs have a certain amount of crap to deal with. I have also learned that nothing ever lasts. When things are bad I know that eventually they will get better. When things are good I know to cherish them because it will not last.

Once the basics are covered like health insurance and so on, then a job is what you make out of it, not necessarily who the employer is.
